INNERLAB NEWS

November 29, 2009

New Celebrities pages added.

A new section titled Celebrities and Famous People was incorporated to Innerlab.com. For now it contains mostly images of women, but it is intended to include information about famous people of both genders.

Astro-Report Pages Not Working.

The section Astro-Report, which gave visitors the option of getting a free Astrological Analysis had to be discontinued due to policy changes in our web hosting service. The program required to calculate birth charts cannot be run on their servers anymore, and the only option would be to change hosting providers (which may happen soon just for that reason). My apologies to those who created accounts at Innerlab for that purpose (actually that was the only section here that needed login and password to identify the owners of the birthcharts).

Spam email is being sent with INFO@INNERLAB.COM as the sender (cont.)

The problem described below, on April 17, continues, and there's nothing that me, or the administrators of my email and web servers can do. I am pasting below the response of those admins, which explain clearly the problem called "Spoofing", which is easy to do and is a growing problem for those webmasters who (like me) do not send unsocilicted email.

" What is occurring on your email account is known as 'email spoofing'. One of the features of the email system is the ability to specify a reply-to address. This allows you to send email from one location and make it appear as if it has come from somewhere else. As an analogy, you can think of writing a return address on an envelope with a fake address. Spammers will do this so that the bounceback messages will not be sent back to their systems, but rather to other, random email addresses.

Even though it may appear as if your email address is being used to send spam, anti-spam hardware and software can see past the email spoofing technique. Every email contains email headers that have detailed information about the mail server that sent the email message. These headers cannot be spoofed or faked, the way a reply-to address can. To continue the analogy, think of the postal code that is stamped on a regular piece of mail.

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done to prevent email spoofing. It is a growing problem and hopefully can be resolved through new anti-spam techniques. Usually, incidents of email spoofing run their course as a particular spammer moves on or is caught and stopped; however at this time there is no more that we can do to correct the situation. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best Regards,"

Spam email is being sent with INFO@INNERLAB.COM as the sender. Innerlab is not responsible for this, and is either the result of a virus in someone's computer (mine included), or done on purpose by who knows who. In any case, if it continues, it will result in many internet service providers "black listing" Innerlab.com as a spammer. To pinpoint the origin of this emails could take a long time, and success is not guaranteed. In the meantime, I can only apologize, and hope this attack stops soon.

September 14, 2007

This website is undergoing a substantial update. This is because the website's databases are being migrated. The status at this moment is as follows:

  • Login might fail for some users who created accounts before September 14, 2007. This is because user accounts have to be rebuilt. If you had an account used to login to AstroReport, and your login fails, try a Password Retrieval. If that doesn't work, then please, create a new account. Try as much as possible to use the same email address you had registered before with Innerlab.
  • Previous AstroReports (both free and professional) have to be rebuilt. If you created AstroReports before the date on this news announcement, you need to create your AstroReport(s) again. If you purchased pro versions, create the AstroReports again (they don't have to be the same ones you had before), and contact Innerlab to have them activated as Professional versions.
