The will to create is the first self-differentiated aspect of
the Absolute and the first expression of that which is known as Creation
(Manvantara).
This initial state, energy, cosmic plane or dimension is represented by
the hindu religion as the god Brahma
(different from Brahman),
and He (the energy of Divine intention) is considered the actual Creator.
This is the first Cosmic Plane (I repeat) to be differentiated from the
Absolute, and it's also the last to be dissolved
into it when the Universe comes to its end (Pralaya).
We can also try to understand Brahma
(the first sub-aspect of the Absolute) and all
the different states of the energy that will be created from It from a
more scientific point of view, but for that I may have to give a basic
tutorial on wave physics, and the included graphics will help those who
don't have much knowledge about this to comprehend my words.
Waves have three fundamental parameters called Frequency, Amplitude
and Shape:
-
The Frequency is measured based on the number of cycles (or oscillations)
that a wave completes in one second. If a wave completes one cycle in a
second, it has a frequency of 1 Hertz (1 Hz).
In different types of waves, Frequency is translated into the following
attributes:
-
Light waves: Color.
-
Sound waves: Pitch.
-
The Amplitude is the intensity of the wave, and in different types
of waves it results in the following attributes:
-
Electromagnetic waves in general: Voltage.
-
Audio waves: Volume.
-
Mechanical waves: (sea waves, for example)
Height.
-
Shape is a third fundamental parameter which is not so easy to describe.
Lets imagine two different musical instruments playing the same note (frequency)
at the same volume (amplitude). Even though these parameters are the same,
the type of sound produced by each instrument will still be different,
and that is because the shape of their waves is different. The wave used
in the previous graphic has a sinusoidal shape, and if it was a
sound wave it would have a particularly soft kind of sound.
THEOREM OF FOURIER. It is known that all
complex wave shapes are built by the sum of sinusoidal waves with different
frequencies and amplitudes. The different sinusoidal components of a wave
are called Harmonics.
Let's assume that the Absolute (Brahman or
ParaBrahman),
the primordial existence, is pure movement on the highest frequency in
the Universe. This vibratory movement remains constant and unchanged both
while Creation lasts and while it's in a latent state, after dissolution.
Let's also imagine that 24 Hz is the highest frequency in the Universe
or the vibratory movement of Brahman,
and that 10 is the minimum amplitude possible (image below).
This fictitious wave (in terms of numeric values) would be what we will
call the carrier wave of the Universe.
. Now, let's imagine that Brahman decides
to add to Himself a new vibration (a form of modulation) that
by necessity must have a lower frequency than the carrier, but whose amplitude
could be higher. The image below shows the chosen second wave, which has
a frequency of 3 Hz, an amplitude that triples the value of the first one
(30) and that it's also a sinusoid.
Brahman, by an act of Will, modifies His primary oscillation by adding
modulation (the second wave), which creates -as we
see in the third image (below)- a type of wave completely different in
terms of shape. This would result in the creation of a totally
different kind of Cosmic Phenomena. Low frequency waves are easier to identify, so
this third wave would be normally described as having a frequency of 3
Hertz's and with an amplitude more or less the sum of both components (also known as
"harmonics").
This description of the process of auto-differenciation is probably
completely inaccurate and is based only on the fact that ParaBrahman
has been described as possessing the attribute of Motion. My definition
is basically one of an omnipresent, uncreated, indescribable and eternal
energy that vibrates at a certain frequency and amplitude and which creates
all subsequent states of energy, planes, etc., by modifying Its motion
or its vibration. But as we can see, the original oscillation (the carrier
wave: Brahman) never disappears and just new ones are added to it. No
real change in the nature of Brahman's original energy occur, just
in the same way that water is always the same independent of the waves
that might be present on it. But when it comes to fundamental energies
like we are treating now, a change on the shape of these oscillations will
result in a totally different dimension or plane of existence.
As we advance on this subject of Esoteric Cosmology, we'll be seeing
that successive planes of existence are created and self-differentiated
from Brahma (not Brahman) to form first a Triplicity
and then final Septenary, each with their own particular
energetic attributes. Each of these seven planes (or "Rays") will have
its own characteristics, and will be the repository and the source of some
basic cosmic principle that will have its energetic correspondences on
all the sub-planes created after them. The forces, or the influences of
each of each of these principles projected from the macrocosm to the microcosm
are known as The Seven Rays.
The cosmic energy of which Brahma is the source is known as the First
Ray, and its main attribute is Divine Will. This term implies
the strong determination of the Absolute to
manifest the Universe and the real purpose behind Creation. This Will is
Life itself, the motivating force behind every single cosmic manifestation
and the cause of their final destruction or dissolution. When this Will
ceases to be present, Brahma itself vanishes and the whole Universe comes
to an end.
The nature of the One is almost as obscure and inaccessible as the nature
of the Absolute Itself, but the energies associated
with this level of being, as well as the equivalent to that energy that
every human being has within (the First Ray)
is more frequently mentioned in occult texts. The reader should take into
account that Brahma is only the word used in the Hindu scriptures to name
this First Principle. Other names can and will be used in this pages to
refer to It, and these are The Father, The First
Ray, Atman and the Spirit.
Technically, some of these terms do not belong to the same concept of the
first manifested energy by the Absolute, but
to its reflections in subsequent planes created much later. This difference
cannot be explained until we treat other subjects, particularly the Seven
Planes .
This First Aspect (the manifested Divine Will) carries, as a reflection
of the original idea, the models and prototypes of energy that will be
later created. At the level of human consciousness (much broader than what
many people believe), this force has its parallels on initiative, activity,
determination, persistence and self-centered or selfish will. But true
Will involves some knowledge of the Purpose of God and His Plan, and this
aspect of Being only surfaces in humans when they discover and try to stimulate
their identification with That which is their source of Life and their
Real Self, and this has its expression in the sacrifice of one's desires
and aspirations to replace them with those that come from God, once His
Purpose is grasped in any measure. True Will (the Divine Will) is, in the
majority of people, only incipient and distorted, if not absent at all.
In our solar system, the Sun is the main focus of this fundamental energy,
the First Ray (and of all the rays). This
process has its place in a plane or dimension called The Central Spiritual
Sun that is the equivalent of the planetary center Shamballa,
mentioned below. The planet Uranus is also an important center of reception-emission
for this energy.
In our planet, the primary focal points of this aspect (the First
Ray) are:
-
A being that carries the title of Lord of the World, known
also as Sanat Kumara and who is the
focal point of all the Seven Rays.
-
The first of three entities that form a triangle of energy around Sanat
Kumara, and who are called the Buddhas
of Activity.
-
All the beings that together with the Lord of the World and the three Buddhas
constitute an planetary energetic group called Shamballa
(the Sixth Kingdom of Nature)
-
The Manu, who is the focussing point
of the First Ray in the collective of
beings known as The Hierarchy (the Fifth
Kingdom of Nature).
-
All human beings whose energetic configuration resonates with the First
Ray in any of its subdivisions.
-
Leaders, politicians, militaries and statesmen in general.
-
The etheric Coronary Center (or Chakra)
in all human beings, and the brain as its physical manifestation.
