It's a good time to make clear that, even though from here on I will mention different planes, or levels of existence, all of them interpenetrate each other, and in all of them there's a simultaneous, coordinated and interdependent activity taking place.

The human being and all other forms of life carry within the inherent nature of Brahman Itself and the energy and attributes of all the planes or dimensions within Him. The evolution of Creation has two well defined stages:

  • First, the creation of the primordial substances that will be the energetic and material basis of the Universe, and then
  • The gradual evolution of those substances by means of the frequent contact with the superior aspects.
  • In this way, the inferior levels of matter increase their consciousness of themselves and their origin, and at the same time they become a better and more refined instrument of expression for those superior aspects from which they originally emanated, allowing the Spirit (the First Aspect) an ever increasing creative output. Both levels of existence benefit from the experience and evolve together.

The number of subdivisions of these levels of energy or vibration can be considered infinite, but this branching takes place in a very orderly manner, as we'll see later on. Also, the different levels of existence have their correspondences in other planes either 'superior' or 'inferior', if I can use both definitions.

It is well known that the most evolved beings of this Solar System are only aware of certain levels that (as they have let Humanity know) are still 'far away' from the source of Life: the primordial Brahman. But the existence of a Universal Law of Correspondences allows us to compare certain levels of existence and the resulting experiences in it with their energetic counterparts in other planes, either way towards the subtle or the dense.

The Creator, Brahma, the first manifestation of the Divine Will, generates in Itself a new aspect of energy-matter that will be the basis for all subsequent states, and which can be considered as the first manifestation of something worth calling 'substance'. Over this most subtle matter the Divine Will will act to create the following states, levels of vibration, or however you want to define them.

It is not possible to say much about this second state of energy-matter, except when comparing it to its correspondences in the dimensions where Humanity is capable of perceiving, either by means of physical (including the senses and man made instruments) or paranormal abilities. This state is basically passive-receptive in relation to the One, and is the sustaining material factor (the nourishing Mother) for all the planes and forms that will later be generated. At this stage of the process of Creation what we understand as Polarity begins to exist, making these dimension (and all its posterior subdivisions) dual in their nature. This primordial plane or dimension contains within the germs of what it will become the manasic or mental energy, of which all human beings make use. This energy it's not only something that our brain processes, but we have a complete vehicle or body constructed with this subtle matter, and it is there where all the mental functions originate, being the brain only the interpreter in the physical plane of the impulses coming from that vehicle and from the plane where it's located and the link between that vehicle and the nervous system.

In our Universe of measurable things, the element Hydrogen can be considered the physical representative of the Mother principle, because of the following reasons:

    • Because it's the first substance in the physical plane. In physics, subatomic particles are considered as matter, and only when they organize or group themselves in at least an atom they are considered substance, or an element.
    • Because from this primary element, when it's atoms fuse with each other in the heart of stars like our sun, all the other known elements are created.
    • Because it carries within the first manifestation in substance of electrical polarity (duality), generated by the presence of one Proton (positive charge) and one Electron (negative charge) in their atoms.

Those who have read the section The Absolute will see that even though until now I've only mentioned two levels of Creation that emanate from the One (Brahma, the Father and Shiva, the Mother), the influence of the latter reflected on all the subplanes is known as the Third Ray. Logically, the numeric value assigned by old conventions to a plane (and their corresponding ray) would match their order of appearance in the phenomenon of Creation, but this is not the case here, and there's a reason for that. All will be more clear when we get to the subject of the Trinity.

In our Solar System, the Physical_Sun represents the Mother aspect of Creation, due to the fact that most of the matter that make up the system is accumulated in that macrocosmic body and is subjected (as we'll see later) to the influence of the Father Aspect through impulse and gravitational attraction (being the first the cause of the latter).

In our planet, the main focal centers of this aspect (the Third Ray, the germ of Manas or Mind) are:

    • Sanat Kumara, as the main receptor of all the Seven Rays.

    • The Third Buddha of Activity, which is one of the three entities that form a triangle of energy around Sanat, and who focusses the Third Ray.

    • The Mahachohan, or The Lord of Civilization.

    • All the Kingdoms of Nature from the First to the Fourth ("Mother Nature"), as the provider of the elemental substances that form the instruments (or vehicles) of the Spirit (The First Aspect) in the Cosmic Physical Plane.

    • Humanity, seen as a collective being. This becomes evident if we compare the development of the mind in human beings with that in lower forms of life in our planet (the mineral, vegetable and animal kingdoms).

    • All human beings whose energetic configuration vibrates in resonance with the Third Ray in any of it's subdivisions.

    • The intellectuals of the world, scientists and technicians.

    • The Throat Etheric Centre (or Chakra), and speech as the interpreter of mind, or as the medium for physical expression of thought. Eventually, when humanity reaches the ability of thought transmission, speech will be used only as creative power through certain sounds, or words of power, like the OM.

The symbol included at the top of this page represents the One expanding in a linear way towards the periphery of what will be the "limits" of the manifested Universe. Generally, the vertical orientation represents the self-projection of the First Aspect into those substances created by Him and within Him. A horizontal line would mean the created substances in action and expanding, in what we may call a "secondary process of Creation".

Other symbols that represent in a particular way the Mother aspect, which is characterized by duality, or polarity (either as the electromagnetic poles of Matter, as Matter - Antimatter, or as the Spirit - Matter duality) are:

The Yin Yang symbol. As many of you know, this symbol is made up of two equal parts with different, or opposite colors. The two-dimensional layout of this symbol by itself represents very well the two polarities of Matter in equal proportions when put into movement by the Father Principle, or the Divine Will.

But the Yin Yang symbol is in reality tri-dimensional, and in this way it reveals certain aspects that were not so evident, and which are related with the structure and cohesion of stars, planets, and atomic particles. The following animation shows this symbol in its true magnitude and rotating. For those who would like to see one of the two parts that make up this universal symbol as a typical wire-frame 3D object, click here.

This animation can very well represent an atom or a star, and their mysterious polarities in action. The readers can see the same design in any tennis ball.

Trying to achieve nuclear fusion, science has experimented with reactors that use certain electromagnets arranged in what it's known as a Yin Yang configuration. This kind of electromagnets stand out by their extraordinary ability to confine particles (plasma, in this case) into a very small space. I include here an image of one of those magnets that was published in the cover of the magazine Scientific American, in October of 1983. The two sections of the magnet were colorized by me to facilitate their association with the images of the Yin Yang included before.

The Swastika. This symbol can (in this case) easily replace the Yin Yang. Seen in its true tridimensional representation, it shows a vertical force and a horizontal one in simultaneous movement: "One wheel inside another wheel".

The interesting part of this subject is the relation that these symbols have with the concept of polarity, with the way that opposite energies are organized by means of the kinetic impulse of the Divine Will, and how the fusion of both is eventually accomplished, which will be explained later in The Trinity.
