The Planetary Spiritual Hierarchy
INTRODUCTION
Humanity is in the middle of a complex evolutionary chain which has so far only been able to look from an illusory "top of the mountain". We have detailed knowledge of our own Kingdom of Nature (the Human Race) and the ones "below" ( the Mineral, Vegetal and Animal Kingdoms), but we don't seem capable to take care properly of those forms of life, not even the ones that eventually became our own food. On the other hand, we are too blind to see any logic in the existence of Kingdoms of Nature that have evolved enough to leave the strictly human state far, far behind. Neither can the majority of people believe that the mentioned evolution has also been experienced by many races on other planets and in many stellar systems. But this, my friends, is indeed the case. There are other Kingdoms of Nature made up by beings that are thousands, and even millions of years more evolved than our race.
These beings (as I said) have already experienced and left behind the human stage of evolution and, as a result, they have achieved what we could call Divinity. Many of these now supra-human entities have evolved within the confines of our own Planetary Life, and are now actively involved in its development. They are the real responsible for all its major advances and changes -even though it may not look like that-, and they are usually referred as The Hierarchy, The Spiritual Hierarchy, The Planetary Hierarchy, The Occult Hierarchy, The White Brotherhood, the Ascended Masters and other names as well. We can consider this group of entities as the planetary Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Kingdoms of Nature. The following table shows the names of all the kingdoms:

The Planetary Hierarchy. The Fifth Kingdom will be referred as The Hierarchy only, and that is because this is the way it has been called in the books by the Master D.K., who presented the whole subject to the public for the first time.
Some of the reasons why most of us don't know about these Kingdoms are:
- 1. Their representatives can make the necessary changes for the correct evolution of our planet by working with those energies that sustain and give form to matter from the planes - or dimensions, if you like - where those energies originate. They work mostly with the cause of matter than with matter itself, so their activities -even though they can be carried out while occupying physical bodies- are done primarily on the mental levels and substances. Almost all of the actual representatives of our Planetary Hierarchy are using either a physical body, or one made up with etheric matter, which is a very dense substance anyway. Most of them are incarnated humans, and even though they mainly work behind the scenes, far from all the glamour and false values of our societies, their work has always a strong effect. Also, many of the tasks that involves a lot of contact with mundane affairs, and that require some kind of public exposure are done by newer "members" of the Hierarchy.
All this may sound like I'm talking about some kind of club, but even though the aspirant, and the recently "accepted" member may not realize it in the beginning, there is definitely a moment when one enters this collective of spiritual beings, and thus jumps from the Fourth Kingdom to the Fifth. This first step is called the First Initiation, and it will be the first in a series of Initiations that follow the entrance into the Hierarchy. Many, many human beings are already first, and even second degree initiates and they may not even know it, because they might not need it at the moment to accomplish their task of helping Humanity or the lower Kingdoms of Nature. This subject of the different initiations will be treated extensively on other pages.
In the last two centuries, a large number of initiates have incarnated on Earth to speed up the task of closing the gap between the Hierarchy and Humanity, and to help the latter in its transition to the next Kingdom (the Fifth). In the future, the higher representatives of the Hierarchy will be known by all, but first, one of the most exalted beings of this Kingdom has to make His next physical appearance on Earth and be recognized.
- 2.Their approach to Humanity has been mostly slow and subtle (from the human standpoint) to prevent:
- Negative consequences due to the ignorance of the masses, who fear the new and who may feel threatened by the direct intervention of superior beings in human affairs.
- The premature release to the unprepared public of knowledge concerning certain forces of nature and the means to control them. The risks involved when knowledge and power don't have the background of Universal Love are too many.
- The development in Humanity of a negligent attitude when it comes to make an effort to evolve - spiritually, scientifically, etc.- which could have its roots in some kind of dependency to the Fifth Kingdom. In short, when things come too easily, many of us tend to relax and leave things undone.
- 3. There are two basic factors that interfere with the inflow of spiritual energy into the Human Kingdom and - as a consequence - into the lower Kingdoms of Nature of which we (Humanity) are the custodians:
- The resistance to change inherent in matter itself, because of its condition of extreme density -compared to the subtle atomic nature of higher planes-. This not only prevents certain energies to reach the human planes of activity, but also causes a very negative response to many of the energies that do make their way through.
- Energies that have their origin in planes higher than the physical, and some of them even originate totally outside of this solar system. They are referred collectively as the cosmic evil, which is mostly related with planetary and systemic Karmas. The Hierarchy in particular, is permanently acting as a barrier against these forces, thus guarding Humanity from even worse influences than the ones that it's already subjected to.
Both forces contribute to delay evolution, and they have - as we would expect - their own points of focused energy in the physical plane, and those are certain groups and individuals with power among many of the established religious, political, scientific, cultural and economic structures of this world. This last fact also applies for the spiritual influence of the Hierarchy, which necessarily finds its material expression through human units with influences in the same fields of planetary activity. The common thing between the two groups of beings is that they are both very intelligent, they work with strong determination (usually behind the scenes), and probably many of the techniques used to get the desired results when dealing with energy-matter are similar. However, their motives and their goals are totally opposite.
We , Humanity or the Fourth Kingdom of Nature, have transcended the existence in the Mineral, Vegetal and Animal Kingdoms, and are now preparing ourselves to establish a
conscious fusion with that Kingdom that has always been our teacher, our tutor and in many, many instances, our healer.
All of us will eventually make the big step into the Fifth Kingdom, because that is the goal of the Planetary Life that is sustaining this world and all that's in it.
HOW IT WAS FOUNDED
About eighteen million years ago, in the middle of the Lemurian
period, a mayor event took place in our planet that radically changed its evolutionary process. Keeping in mind the fact that the physical Earth is the material vehicle of a Planetary Spirit (the Planetary Logos), it can be said that this Spirit made a closer contact or fusion with its physical vehicle, having the latter reached the required evolutionary stage. The projected reflection of the Logos of our planet took form in the etheric planes and became almost human. I say "almost" because it was not possible for Him to incarnate in a physical vehicle. He cannot respond to any vibration of the dense physical plane, so He used an etheric sheath instead (needless is to say that He had already experienced and left behind the human stage of evolution ages ago). This incarnated entity is our planetary God, the supreme ruler of all that lives on this physical planet and its inner subtle planes. He is known as Sanat Kumara, The Lord of the World, the Ancient of Days, The Great Sacrifice and other names as well.
Together with Sanat Kumara, other entities also took form on the etheric planes which were both his energetic counterparts and his karmically related group. With Sanat as the head, they became focal points on Earth of the triple nature of the Planetary Logos, and of the Seven Cosmic Rays, in a wider perspective. That was the initial personnel of the Hierarchy.
This planetary phenomenon greatly accelerated the evolutionary process in all Kingdoms of Nature of our planet. Man , for example, was soon able to became self-conscious and therefore, evolved from the Third to the Fourth Kingdom.
Right now, millions of years after its foundation, the Planetary Hierarchy is mostly composed of those human beings of our planet that have left the Fourth Kingdom behind through their own efforts and struggles during countless incarnations, where they learned to purify their lower vehicles and put
them under the control of their souls and -finally- of their spiritual sparks (the Monad). Only the inner circle around Sanat Kumara is the exception to this. Some of those beings are initiates from a point in evolution of our planet so far distant -the Moon chain - that they almost cannot be considered as belonging to our own Humanity. Others are the extra planetary representatives of their respective Planetary Logoi.
ITS WORK
The first task of the Hierarchy has been always to transmit the will of the Planetary Logos, and through it, the Will of the Solar Logos. The Purpose of the Logos manifests by means of the Plan, which the Hierarchy implements. The Hierarchy is reponsible for developing this Plan and finding the proper methods to get the desired results, both within the Hierarchy itself and in the lower Kingdoms of Nature.
In regard of those Kingdoms, the work of the Hierarchy is directed towards stimulating first the development of self-consciousness in all forms of life within the planet, and later to elevate that consciousness to the highest possible degree. For that latter purpose, the method of Initiation, as it is applied now on Earth and two other planets in the Solar System, was instituded. At the middle of the Atlantean root-race, which was the middle of the present
Chain Round (see "Chains, Rounds and Races"), this event and some other ones took place. For example, the door from the Animal Kingdom to the Human was closed while at the same time the Door of Initiation was open to those human beings that were willing to do the necessary effort to enter it.
The Hierarchy is permanently working (now not so much in the background as before) on the evolution of all the Four Kingdoms of Nature, as well as on its own. They have reached (by means
of their own efforts) such a state of Pure Love and Wisdom, that they are able to use constructively all the occult resources and powers of Nature in this planet. Many of these powers cannot be even known for someone that has not reached a high level of purity of motives.
Some of the work in the evolutionary process of our planetary life (Sanat Kumara) has been aided at many times by forces totally external to our system. There's a special connection between the sun Sirius and our Solar Logos, and many souls jump to that solar system in their evolutionary path. Others stay in our own solar system and some also stay within the orb of influence of Sanat Kumara (the ring-pass-not of our planet), helping Him.
ITS STRUCTURE
The following is one of a series of diagrams that were published in the first book from Alice A. Bailey, Initiation, Human and Solar. Some important changes have occurred in the ranks of the Hierarchy since this diagram was published, and I tried to include some of them. For example: The position occupied by the last World Teacher, whom we know as 'The Christ' has been taken by the Master of the Second Ray which was his closest in rank (K.H.), and the Master R. (St. Germain) has assumed the position of Mahachoan. These kind of changes are based primarily on the following facts:

When a Master reaches a new stage in evolution he moves forward, leaving a vacant in the ranks of the Hierarchy that must necessarily be filled, usually by another Master on the same Ray.
- The energies that reach our planet from cosmic sources, as well as the energies that the Lord of the World is working with, are both subject to fluctuations. The increase of a certain energy (or ray) and the inflow of a new one, are both going to find a better expression in a certain group of Masters than in others, because of the Law of Electric Affinity. The presence of a strong inflow of Seventh Ray energy, for which the Master R. is a focussing channel, has recently put him in the position of Mahachohan, or Lord of Civilization. The same phenomena (the change of energies) causes certain groups of the human family to increase their activity and influence in world events, while others seem to "fade away" in the same sense.
The majority of the Masters that have achieved their Seventh Initiation do not stay helping the Lord of the World in His task of spiritualizing the planet Earth (his material vehicle of expression, or 'body'), and many will move to a different solar system. The solar system of Sirius is, and will be, the new home of many of them, because of an important connection that Sirius has with our solar system and with Earth, based on Second Ray vibrational affinity.
Needless is to say, then, that the diagram applies only to the group of Masters that are working for the evolution of our planet and the different Kingdoms of Nature, and particularly with Humanity. The work with that other great line of development in our planet which is called the Deva Evolution has its own particular group of workers.
The colors used in the table below represent the primary colors (Blue, Yellow and Red) associated with the three aspect of the Cosmic Deity. The truth is that in this solar system, everything is a sub-ray of a second ray "carrier wave", and that's why the color yellow was shown as the central one in the diagram. To make this more accurate, the remaining colors (blue and red) should have been actually a combination of yellow and blue, and yellow and red, respectively. But I chose not, to emphazise each of the three divine aspects.
The main point of this teaching is the logical existence of a Spiritual Hierarchy. We seem to find logical the hierarchy of political, economical and cultural powers in our society, so why consider the former fact impossible?
Try to understand the Hierarchical organization of these spiritual beings as an energetic configuration, a logical arrangement of a series of energy receivers / transformers / transmitters. The Life, the Consciousness and the Energy of God is distributed along " energy stations" of varied magnitude, just like our electricity, which comes from main power
stations -nuclear, hydraulic, etc.- and it's reduced and distributed through different cities by smaller nodes. The Internet also works in a similar way. This processes are analogous in the macrocosm as well in the microcosm.
Even if I'm mainly dealing here with our Planetary Hierarchy, I cannot avoid mentioning the fact that the Sun is the primary point of reception and distribution of Cosmic Life and Consciousness for our Solar System. It is a common thing for everybody to take for granted the fact that -even from the most materialistic point of view- the basic energies that make life possible in our planet come from our Sun. The whole Solar System is the body of manifestation of the Solar Logos, the Spirit that animates the physical Sun. In other words, the visible and measurable solar system is
the physical vehicle of a solar spirit who has "incarnated" in it. When this particular incarnation reaches its designated purpose, the solar spirit will abandon His vehicle, and the whole solar system will dissintegrate. The same idea applies to planets, galaxies, and the entire universe.
Seven planets of our Solar System are the receptacles for each of the Seven Cosmic Rays that converge in the Sun, and they are usually referred as the Seven Sacred Planets. Our planet is not considered a sacred one, even though the entities that control it are of a very high order (Planetary Logoi and their inner circle of helpers are necessarily very advanced beings), but it is known to be the lower manifestation (or lower "octave") of one of the Seven Sacred Planets, which should not be specified.
The threefold and septenary Cosmic Energy that reaches our planet from these sources is focused in three main planetary centres that we call:
Each of these centres is one of the Seven Kingdoms of Nature.
